I sat in on drums at a place on East Washington Ave. in Madison a couple years ago, but I can't remember the name of the place. Also, my high school buddy Greg Balfany plays saxophone and taught jazz at UW-LaCrosse and has a jazz combo that performs regularly at the Starlight Lounge in La Crosse.
I admire your musical repertoire, Tracey, and your two grand pianos. I seem to be a diehard classical music lover like my late father. Best wishes to you and your students on the recital this weekend!
I like them both but was never any good at jazz on the guitar. Yet I did have some talent with composition. I remember back in the Seventies I talked with an academic who taught computer music. He told me that there was a style of classical composition where the composers tried to remove themselves from emotion. For me, music has never been just intellectual. It's always been about emotion.
Thanks, Carl. Sometimes that's the way I feel about Bach. LOL! But you're right. All music is emotion. Music is a universal language. It expresses everything.

Good to know. I wish it was closer to Madison.

Thank you Sherrill!
Music moves me, too. I think it is what makes the world spin.
You may be right!

I love all types of music, too. And "Solace" is a favorite. Best wishes for a successful recital. I know it will be a great and memorable event!
Would love to hear what you played. And thank you. ☺️
Your students are so lucky!
Thanks Margaret!
