Publishing Forewarned, week #29

This week I give a quick recap of the last six months. Beginning with a revised and edited manuscript, these are the most important tasks toward my book launch.

Could I have done more to prep for my book launch? Yes. Could I have done it faster? Yes, but I’m glad I didn’t. I’m happy with all I’ve done to prepare and in three weeks, I’ll move on phase two; publicity and promo.

Forewarned is a suspenseful, moody thriller set in 1976 at Lake Carlson in Northern Indiana. From the first page this is a compelling read, and I was quickly immersed in a rich and painfully accurate description of the life of the rich and not so rich in this summer tourist town. Daphne is a 15-year-old with the ability to know things others don't and from the moment she returns to the family cottage, she knows that something bad will happen before the summer is done.

The tension in Forewarned is taut and Phillips does a brilliant job of ratcheting it up as the story unfolds. By the end I couldn't stop thinking about the book and how it would end. I highly recommend this for anyone who likes to step into the paranormal and think about what life would be like if you knew things that others didn't. ~Colleen Winter Award-Winning Author of The Gatherer
