Great piece....... and love the pix of the old (young) you. You're absolutely right about rhythm.

Not everyone can pull off debutante to punk rocker to amazing author with such charm and grace. Life is a dance, and writing fiction is a tango with lots of lunges and dips. Your POV planning is impressive. Can't wait to read the books!

Thanks Saralyn. The debutante to punk rocker sounds like she should be a character in my book! and Some day you will. :)

I had no idea a classical pianist could be such a rebel. Good advice on rhythm. The second version of the sentence is much better than the first. I too had a challenge in how to mix POVs in my book SAVING MYLES. My agent suggested I put chunks of chapters in the same POV so the reader wouldn't get tossed around. That seemed to work better. Another challenge with voices is that sometimes a scene works better with the voice of a character different than the one you wrote it in

Hi Carl, I've had that problem too. So far, setting my alternate POVs in a pattern like the above hasn't steered me wrong. It is a bigger challenge when you add in flashbacks or more POVs. And I'm glad I'm not the only one who has occasionally written a chapter from the wrong POV. As to the rebel-it was the 80's? What else can I say?

I agree with John, this is spot on. Music keeps me imagining and writing. Music and poetry breaks all the writer’s blocks I face. Great pics too.

I love your poetry, Nick. I've never considered writing Poetry to relieve writer's block, but I can see how it would help. Next time I'm stuck, I'll try it! Thank you.

Even reading poetry helps me like music does.
